We arrived for an evening of fun as CeeCee had set up her karaoke at her farm and with all those, except myself, members of the Tenovus Sing with us choir, I knew we were in for an enjoyable evening.

As we turned onto the drive we could see a giant dinosaur grazing amongst the tall grass in the distance. Not your usual farmyard sighting but then our hosts are no ordinary couple!
Dave, CeeCee and family have many interests and amongst their entrepreneurial business activities is their importation and erection of these prehistoric monsters. They are to be found every where including Tom Burton's estate where he has created his own ‘ dinosaur garden’ which includes a 25 ft Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Nearer to home 250 of these giant Jurassic park creatures can be found at Dan yr Ogof Cave - a 17-kilometre long cave system about 5 miles north of Ystradgynlais in south Wales and 15 miles southwest of Brecon, in the Beacons National Park
Earlier in the year The caves' director Dan Owens said the Swansea valley tourist attraction was expecting six new ones to arrive before the summer and here Cee and Dave make their delivery

Sale of an Old Dinosaur

Ahead of the new installations Dan yr Ogof caves sold a 15 ft tall dinosaur on ebay to Jerry Adams at a cost of £1600.
When he saw it he said he had to buy it to help create a sensory garden for his three autistic grandchildren. He also used it to raise money for a diabetes charity JDRF UK
Discovery of a dinosaur fossil on a Welsh beach

In 2014 a Dinosaur fossil was found on a Welsh beach which was identified as a new cousin to tyrannosaurus rex. It was the first meat-eating dinosaur ever found in the country.
Extract from article written at that time -
‘ The fossilised skeleton of a theropod dinosaur, including razor sharp teeth, and claws, was discovered on a beach near Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan. It was analysed by experts from The University of Manchester, University of Portsmouth and the National Museum Wales. This new dinosaur was a distant cousin of Tyrannosaurus rex and lived at the very earliest part of the Jurassic Period, 201 million years ago, possibly making it the oldest Jurassic dinosaur in the world.
The discovery was made by two brothers, Nick and Rob Hanigan while fossil hunting along the Lavernock beach in the Vale of Glamorgan after storms in spring 2014. After a cliff fall on the beach, they spotted several loose blocks containing part of the skeleton of a small dinosaur. ‘
Isle of Wight
This leads me to the Isle of Wight which boasts a comprehensive fossil Museum which includes many dinosaur fossils which can be found in the Pterosaur shaped building in Sandown It takes visitors through a fossil time tunnel into a building filled with skeletal remains and lifelike exhibits of the 23 species of dinosaurs which are known to have roamed the islands terrain.
